In May 2014, there were 1 198 052 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 38 502 non-visitors and 1 159 550 visitors. The visitors consist of 445 429 same-day visitors and 714 121 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 146 342 from overseas; 551 691 from the SADC countries; 14 814 from other African countries. The country of residence of 1 274 tourists was classified as unspecified.
