In January 2014, there were 1 468 288 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 104 432 non-visitors and 1 363 856 visitors. The visitors consist of 414 453 same-day visitors and 949 403 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 203 604 from overseas; 728 013 from the SADC countries; 17 283 from other African countries. The country of residence of 503 tourists was classified as unspecified.
