In October 2013, there were 1 283 885 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 67 394 non-visitors and 1 216 491 visitors. The visitors consist of 421 997 same-day visitors and 794 494 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 258 380 from overseas; 514 328 from the SADC countries; 19 914 from `other` African countries. The country of residence of 1 872 tourists were classified as unspecified.
