In September 2013, there were 1 252 142 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 69 887 non-visitors and 1 182 255 visitors. The visitors consist of 398 322 same-day visitors and 783 933 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 217 645 from overseas; 543 675 from the SADC countries; 20 716 from 'other' African countries. The country of residence of 1 897 tourists were classified as unspecified.
