In May 2013, there were 1 133 427 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 61 015 non-visitors and 1 072 412 visitors. The visitors consist of 372 754 same-day visitors and 699 658 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 169 376 from overseas; 511 131 from the SADC countries; 17 619 from 'other' African countries. The country of residence of 1 532 tourists were classified as unspecified.
