In October 2012, there were 1 189 515 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 59 050 non-visitors and 1 130 465 visitors. The visitors consist of 345 603 same-day visitors and 784 862 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 242 475 from overseas; 521 290 from the SADC countries; 18 795 from 'other' African countries and 2 302 unspecified.
