In August 2012, there were 1 162 144 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 58 917 non-visitors and 1 103 227 visitors. The visitors consist of 327 607 same-day visitors and 775 620 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 199 820 from overseas; 555 848 from the SADC countries; 18 045 from 'other' African countries and 1 907 unspecified.
