In March 2012, there were 1 072 496 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 51 906 non-visitors and 1 020 590 visitors. The visitors consist of 317 523 same-day visitors and 703 067 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 218 436 from overseas; 466 137 from the SADC countries; 16 297 from `other` African countries and 2 197 unspecified.
