In January 2012, there were 1 249 101 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 87 580 non-visitors and 1 161 521 visitors. The visitors consist of 274 455 same-day visitors and 887 066 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 210 253 from overseas; 658 157 from the SADC countries; 16 541 from `other` African countries and 2 115 unspecified.
