In October 2011, there were 1 094 813 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 54 005 non-visitors and 1 040 808 visitors. The visitors consist of 317 561 same-day visitors and 723 247 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 208 141 from overseas; 496 550 from the SADC countries; 16 074 from `other` African countries and 2 482 unspecified.
