In September 2011, there were 1 033 426 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 53 007 non-visitors and 980 419 visitors. The visitors consist of 303 986 same-day visitors and 676 433 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 173 497 from overseas; 484 139 from the SADC countries; 16 575 from 'other' African countries and 2 222 unspecified.
