In April 2011, there were 1 020 453 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 20 105 non-visitors and 1 000 348 visitors. The visitors consist of 301 949 same-day visitors and 698 399 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 172 145 from overseas; 509 604 from the SADC countries; 14 619 from `other` African countries and 2 031 unspecified.
