In January 2010, there were 991 326 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 38 048 non-visitors and 953 278 visitors. The visitors consist of 224 222 same-day visitors and 729 056 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 167 706 from overseas; 541 423 from SADC countries; 13 687 from other African countries and 6 240 unspecified.
