In December 2009, there were 940 836 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 27 728 non-visitors and 913 108 visitors. The visitors consist of 240 246 same-day visitors and 672 862 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 195 739 from overseas; 460 350 from SADC countries; 13 708 from `other` African countries and 3 065 unspecified.
