In October 2009, there were 889 529 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 31 846 non-visitors and 857 683 visitors. The visitors consist of 225 579 same-day visitors and 632 104 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 189 932 from overseas, 424 428 from SADC countries; 14 328 from other African countries and 3 416 unspecified.
