In July 2009, there were 879 884 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 34 154 non-visitors and 845 730 visitors. The visitors consist of 222 316 same-day visitors and 623 414 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 156 846 from overseas; 448 795 from SADC countries; 12 835 from other African countries and 4 938 unspecified.
