The total number of foreign travellers who visited South Africa from Africa, overseas and unspecified countries, arriving through all ports of entry during June 2007 was 638 349. The June 2007 figure represents an increase of 6,2% as compared with the June 2006 figure of 601 248. During June 2007, the most common mode of travel used by foreign travellers arriving in South Africa was road, involving 450 571 (70,6%) travellers while the total number of foreign travellers departing, road constituted the most common mode of travel 403 413 (70,4%).
