In February 2025, 2 517 551 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 600 556 South African residents and 1 916 995 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 024 787 were made up of 24 123 non-visitors and 1 000 664 visitors. The visitors consisted of 236 553 same-day visitors and 764 111 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 215 830 from overseas; 531 644 from SADC countries; 15 589 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 048 tourists were classified as unspecified.
