In November 2024, 2 495 956 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They comprised 617 179 South African residents and 1 878 777 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 002 928 comprised 27 786 non-visitors and 975 142 visitors. The visitors consisted of 207 215 same-day visitors and 767 927 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 212 335 from overseas; 535 807 from SADC countries; 18 409 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 376 tourists were classified as unspecified.
