IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In June 2024, 2 452 882 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They comprised 793 697 South African residents and 1 659 185 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 872 501 comprised 23 580 non-visitors and 848 921 visitors. The visitors consisted of 207 637 same-day visitors and 641 284 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 134 396 from overseas; 494 006 from SADC countries; 11 863 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 019 tourists were classified as unspecified.
