Key findings: P0307 - Marriages and Divorces, 2005
The overall number of officially recorded marriages in South Africa in 2005 was 180 657. This represented an increase of 4 136 marriages as compared to 176 521 marriages recorded in 2004.
The total number of recorded divorces in 2005 was 32 484. This figure was higher than the one recorded in 2004 (31 768).
