Monthly changes in the CPAP indices

In August 2017, month-on-month percentage changes in the work group indices ranged from -1,1% for work group 129 and 141 to 3,8% for work group 162. 

Noteworthy changes in the results for August 2017 are as follows:

  • Work group 162: The monthly percentage increase of 3,8% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 6,4% monthly increase in SEIFSA Price of Copper 7,90mm Rod, which accounts for 45,0% of the index.
  • Work group 114: The monthly percentage increase of 3,5% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 4,5% monthly increase in the PPI for Reinforcing steel, which accounts for 75,0% of the index.
  • Work group 160: The monthly percentage increase of 3,1% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 6,4% monthly increase in SEIFSA Price of Copper 7,90mm Rod, which accounts for 35,0% of the index.
  • Work group 172: The monthly percentage increase of 2,6% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 6,8% monthly increase in SEIFSA indices for Metal prices - Copper RCP/ Metric Ton, which accounts for 40,0% of the index.
  • Work group 129: The monthly percentage decrease of 1,1% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 3,1% monthly decrease in the PPI for Gypsum board, which accounts for 25,0% of the index.
  • Work group 141: The monthly percentage decrease of 1,1% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 2,2% monthly decrease in the PPI for Stainless steel products - flat rolled, which accounts for 50,0% of the index.


Revisions to Work Groups 124, 160, 162, 170, 171, 172, 173, 180 and 181 in June and July 2017 were due to changes in SEIFSA indices for Actual wage rates, Galvanised and Hot Rolled sheets.
