Key findings: P0151 - Contract Price Adjustment Provisions Work Group Indices (CPAP), May 2016

In May 2016, month-on-month percentage changes in the work group indices ranged from 6,7% for work group 114 to -3,7% for work group 172. The Consumer Price Index for May 2016 increased by 0,2% month-on-month. 

The five indices reflecting monthly percentage changes mainly due to factors other than the headline CPI are:


Work group 114: The monthly percentage increase of 6,7% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 9,1% monthly increase in the PPI for Reinforcing steel, which accounts for approximately 75,0% of the work group 114 index.


Work group 124: The monthly percentage increase of 6,1% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 7,5% monthly increase in SEIFSA indices for Galvanised Sheets, which accounts for approximately 85,0% of the work group 124 index.


Work group 113: The monthly percentage increase of 5,9% reflected by this index was mainly due to an 8,0% monthly increase in SEIFSA indices for Strand post tensioning application, which accounts for approximately 55,0% of the work group 113 index.


Work group 162: The monthly percentage decrease of 3,1% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 6,7% monthly decrease in SEIFSA indices for Copper 7,90mm Rod, which accounts for approximately 45,0% of the work group 162 index.


Work group 172: The monthly percentage decrease of 3,7% reflected by this index was mainly due to a 7,1% monthly decrease in SEIFSA indices for Metal prices – Copper RCP/ Metric Ton, which accounts for approximately 40,0% of the work group 172 index.
