Publication description:
A monthly survey of prices of commodities in exported and imported commodities on prices covering samples of exporters and importers in the South African economy. The results of the survey are used to compile the Producer Price Index (PPI) for exported and imported commodities which indicates changes in prices of exports and imports. These statistics are used by the private sector for contract price adjustments and as a deflator in the compilation of national accounts.
