The official inflation rate (i.e. the percentage change in the CPI for the historical metropolitan areas at January 2006 compared with that at January 2005) is 4,0% at January 2006. This rate is 0,4 of a percentage point higher than the corresponding annual rate of 3,6% at December 2005 (i.e. the percentage change in the CPI for the historical metropolitan areas at December 2005 compared with that at December 2004).

From December 2005 to January 2006 the Consumer Price Index for the historical metropolitan areas increased by 0,7%.
