The headline inflation rate in May 2009 (i.e. the Consumer Price Index for all urban areas in May 2009 compared with that at May 2008) was 8,0%

The official inflation rate (i.e. the percentage change in the CPI for all urban areas in May 2009 compared with that in May 2008) was 8,0% at May 2009. This rate was 0,4 of a percentage point lower than the corresponding annual rate of 8,4% in April 2009 (i.e. the Consumer Price Index for all urban areas in April 2009 compared with that in April 2008).

From April 2009 to May 2009 the Consumer Price Index for all urban areas increase by 0,4%.
