Key findings: P0044 - Quarterly financial statistics (QFS), December 2005

The total turnover of all industries for the fourth quarter of 2005 was estimated at R874 764 million, an increase of 4,0% compared with the third quarter of 2005 (R841 165 million). Between the third and the fourth quarter of 2005 turnover increased in six of the seven industries covered in the survey. The largest increase was recorded for trade (+8,2%), followed by mining and quarrying (+5,1%), transport, storage and communication (+4,0%), real estate and other business services (excluding financial intermediation and insurance) (+2,1%), construction (+1,0%) and manufacturing (+0,8%). Community, social and personal services (excluding government institutions) reported a decrease of 3,6%.
