The total number of liquidations recorded for June 2008 increased by 28,7% (from 181 to 233) when compared with June 2007, mainly due to the public servant strike in June 2007 which reduced the number of liquidations being processed in the courts. Furthermore, the total number of liquidations recorded for the six months ended June 2008 increased by 10,2% (from 1 299 to 1 432) when compared with the six months ended June 2007.

The total number of insolvencies recorded for May 2008 increased by 13,0% (from 185 to 209) when compared with May 2007. Furthermore, the total number of insolvencies recorded for the five months ended May 2008 increased by 30,1% (from 742 to 965) compared with the five months ended May 2007.
