This report explores the existence, availability and quality of data sources collected by entities outside of Stats SA for demographic estimation. The report looks into various non-traditional data sources that would be useful in this endeavour. The report also looks at the road ahead in terms of how Stats SA incorporate such data sources in a way that does not compromise quality, enhances co-ordination of accessing data and makes data sources comparable.
