Municipalities purchase less electricity but spend more on water

Municipal purchases and sales of water and electricity followed expected seasonal patterns in the quarter ended December 2014. Municipalities spent an additional 12,9% on water purchases, compared with the quarter ended September 2014. Municipal income generated from water sales increased by 20,0%. Masilonyana Local Municipality is within the district of Lejweleputsa. Tokologo is located within Lejweleputswa District Municipality. The area covers 9 326 square kilometres and consists of three former Transitional Local Councils namely Boshof, Dealesville and Hertzogville, as well as a portion of a former Transitional Rural Council (Moddervaal), which consists of approximately 1 480 farms. Tokologo Local Municipality is in the western Free State. Tokologo is a Setswana word meaning "freedom”.
