The Mpofana Municipality is strategically located along the national N3 highway and is approximately 70 km from Pietermaritzburg. The Mooi River sits at the heart of the Midlands Meander with interesting attractions such as the Linen Loft and Sharrow Weaving. Stretches of the river offer boating facilities whilst the upper reaches are a fly fisherman's paradise. Further upstream, the Mooi River Falls are a marvellous site to watch when the river is flooded. The predominant occupation in the area is agriculture, with a wide range of agricultural products being produced. Abaqulusi

AbaQulusi Municipality is located in the northern part of KwaZulu-Natal and is approximately 1943 km2 in extent and has a population of about 211 060 people. It constitutes about 13.13% of the Zululand District Municipality, and is one of the five local municipalities that make up the district.

Masilonyana

Masilonyana Local Municipality is within the district of Lejweleputsa. The municipality comprises five urban centres, namely, Theunissen, Masilo, Brandfort, Majwemasweu, Soutpan, Ikgogosenf, Verkeerdevlei, Tshepong, Winburg and Makeleketla including their rural areas. The administrative headquarters is in Theunissen/Masilo. It is centrally located in the Free State.

Mafube

The Mafube Local Municipality is one of the local municipalities found within the Fezile Dabi District Municipality. The municipality was established in terms of section 12 of the Municipal Structures Act, 1998, following the local government elections of 2000.

The municipality is made up of four towns, namely Frankfort, Villiers, Cornelia and Tweeling. Frankfort serves as a home for the headquarters of the municipality.
