Nkandla

Nkandla is situated in a remote area of breathtaking mountainous beauty, which consists mainly of tribal lands and state-owned land. uMlalazi

uMlalazi Local Municipality is made up of the towns of Eshowe, Mtunzini, and Gingindlovu. The villages of Amatikulu and Ntumeni, together with considerable rural hinterland, cover one of the largest geographical areas of all municipalities in South Africa, with a total area of 2�217 km2. The municipal area is dominated by tribal areas, and 14 Tribal Authorities exist within the area (uMlalazi municipality website). The area appears to have sufficient sources for the provision of water. A complicating factor is the undulating topography, which is characteristic of the entire municipal area. In some instances it is therefore difficult and expensive to provide these services. Arterial roads through the area are in good condition. In practically all instances district roads and farm roads are in poor condition and in need of upgrading.read more »

Ulundi

The Ulundi Local Municipality is located in north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal. It covers anarea ofapproximately 3�250 km�.It includes the traditional authorities of Buthelezi, Hlatswayo, Jama, LukwaziNtuli, Mbatha, Mpungose, Ndebele, Ntombele, Usustu, Ximba, and Zondo. Approximately half of the municipal area consists of commercial farms and the area supports a substantial agricultural community.

Ulundi town represents the only urban area in the municipal area, and therefore plays an important role in the provision of social and economic facilities to the total population of Ulundi. This places enormous pressure on the urban area for the delivery of services. A significant number of households in the rural area are headed by females, who are usually more disadvantaged in terms of resources and education.

Ventersdorp

Ventersdorp Local Municipality is situated in the eastern part of the North West. It is one of the four local municipalities of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality. It is situated 70 km from Klerksdorp/Matlosana Local Municipality, 130 km from Mafikeng and 140 km from Johannesburg. It is accessed through the N14 which connects it to both Johannesburg and Mafikeng.

The municipality covers an area of 3�764,05 km2 (Census 2011) and it is subdivided into six wards. Most of the villages in Ventersdorp can be regarded as semi-formalized villages where development is based on settlement layout plans (most of the stands were surveyed). Villages are currently managed by CPAs (Community Property Association), except Ga-Mogopa that is managed by a trust. Ownership of stands/plots within the villages is based on commercial ownership (no individual ownership exists).

Ubuntu

Ubuntu Local Municipality is a municipality in the Pixley ka Seme District Municipality of the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. It is situated in Victoria West; other towns in the municipality are Richmond, Loxton�and two small railway villages Hutchinson and Merriman. The region forms a part of the Karoo area. The agriculture and tourism industries are supported by the location, topography and climate of the region. A variety of minerals occur in the region yet no mining activities exist. Several applications for uranium prospecting have been submitted to the Department of Minerals and Energy. The new demarcation joined Victoria West, Hutchinson, Merriman, Loxton and Richmond into a single Municipality. Victoria West, situated on the N12, is the main town. Richmond is situated on the N1.read more »
