The Okhahlamba Local Municipality is situated in the mountainous region of KwaZulu-Natal between Lesotho, the Free State, Emnambithi and Mtshezi. This municipality derived its name from a range of mountains which stretches more than 400km. Endumeni

Situated in the Umzinyathi District Municipality in the north-western part of KwaZulu-Natal, Endumeni Local Municipality is home to a population that is predominantly urban, with only 16,8% living in non-urban areas. The towns of Dundee, Glencoe and Wasbank house most of the urban population of Endumeni. Wasbank is located at the foot of the Indumeni mountain, an inactive volcano.

The municipality is situated along the eastern boarder of Umzinyathi District, about 65 km from Dundee and approximately 70 km from Pietermaritzburg. It covers an area of 2 516 km² (Wikipedia) and is well served by provincial and regional roads, easily accessible from Pietermaritzburg, the coast, the Drakensberg, and the battlefields route.
