Hertzogville was established in 1915. It was named after General James Barry Munnik Hertzog (1866-1942), former Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa and founder of the National Party. Predominantly a cattle and sheep farming town. Hertzogville hosts an annual agricultural show during the month of March. (GPS coordinates: 28.1365 S, 25.5024 E).
