Postmansburg was named after Reverend Dirk Postma (1818-1890), who was founder of the Reformed Church. The town started out as a London Missionary Society station called Sibiling, and later became a villiage named Blinkklip. In 1890 it acquired its present name. (GPS coordinates: 28.3065 S, 23.0782 E).
