Cofimvaba is probably named after the nearby stream which, when it rains, froths in a turbulent way to resemble milk. Another explanation is that the name is derived from cofa ('press') and mvaba ('milkbag'), referring to the process whereby lumps of sour milk are broken up within goatskin bags. (GPS coordinates: 32.0236 S, 27.586 E).
