Kwaggafontein is Afrikaans for 'quagga spring' or 'quagga fountain', and refers to the Quagga, a type of African zebra that went extinct in the late 1800s. Thabo Mbeki, former President of South Africa, unveiled the country's current coat of arms at Kwaggafontein on the 27 April 2000. (GPS coordinates: 25.3164 S, 28.9454 E).
