Makokskraal was called Moduane before the 1930s. The name was then changed to Makokskraal, and in 2009 it was reclaimed by the Makokoe and re-named after chief Manyedi Makokoe. A kraal is an enclosure for cattle. (GPS coordinates: 26.3394 S, 26.6249 E).
