Chatsworth takes its name from the farm Chatsworth on which the suburb was developed. The farm itself was purchased in 1848 by Samuel Bennington and named by him after Chatsworth in Derbyshire, England. (GPS coordinates: 29.9214 S, 30.8922 E).
