Important Notice: Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) conducts a monthly sample survey of civil cases recorded and civil summonses for debt issued in South Africa. This information is obtained from selected magistrates� offices.
The collection of data has been severely affected by the recent hack of the Department of Justice resulting in the postponement of the August 2021 statistical release that was originally scheduled for publication on Thursday, 21 October 2021. The August 2021 statistical release is now scheduled for Thursday, 18 November 2021.
The September 2021 statistical release, previously scheduled for publication on Thursday, 18 November 2021, will be published at a later date.
Stats SA apologises to users for the inconvenience of the delays.
